Yalitza Aparicio is back on set! The actress from Alfonso Cuarón’s acclaimed film ‘Roma’ has already started filming in Guatemala alongside another talented Netflix actress, Ester Expósito.
The Oaxacan woman is part of ‘Peace Peace Now Now’, a documentary series that will portray women survivors of sexist violence in Latin America.
According to what Aparicio told the EFE news agency, she said “excited to know that these stories will be told from the perspectives of four women, each of whom have fought in our fields in some way and have sought to bring attention vital for their cases ”.
Along with Yalitza Aparicio and Ester Expósito will also be actress Daniela Vega and Garbage singer Shirley Manson.
What is Peace Peace Now Now about?
Although there is not much information about it, it is known that the documentary series will be four chapters of which the first two have already been recorded. According to what can be seen on the series’ Instagram account, the third chapter is being recorded in Guatemala by the Mexican Yalitza Aparicio.
The first two chapters were recorded by Daniela Vega, from the tape ‘Una Mujer fantástica’ (2017), and Garbage singer Shirley Manson. The first is recorded in Colombia and the second in Chile.
The fourth and last of this documentary series will be presented by Ester Expósito, from the Elite series, who recorded in a prison in Spain and who will focus on the career and life of Mexican journalist Lydia Cacho.
