Also, showrunner Michael Schur showed the reason for not and ending the NBC series making any seasons. He clarified that after making the fourth season he felt that this is enough and ‘only over 50 episodes would be the best lifespan’
Then he added about not creating season 5 by saying that he tried to make more seasons following season four but then he felt as though he wanted to make the show a unique, aesthetically pleasing joy, so he drops the notion of making a fifth season. There will not be a season 5.
