Ticktum, Gelael join DAMS for Sportscar Racing next year In 2020 F2 season

The move marks Ticktum’s first Effort since he was Dropped from the Red Bull scheme and lost his Super Formula chair in June undertaking two rounds of the Formula Regional European Championship.

Ticktum recently stated that there’s interest from multiple F1 teams about a junior programme role and added he could quit motorsport should the door be shut onto a move to F1.

Gelael – who goes across to DAMS from Prema – and Ticktum will Take part in this F2 post-Abu Dhabi evaluation on 5-7 December, the same place where Ticktum made his introduction that is F2 forcing for Arden.

Ticktum’s DAMS move means after job three GP3 rounds to the group in 21, he returns.

“Francois [Sicard, team boss] and his team have a reputation in the Formula 1 paddock for producing top drivers as well as for offering them the ideal support to get them to F1 — I can not wait to get started later this week in Abu Dhabi.”

Olivier and gregory Driot, that took over the running of the team After the passing of founder Jean-Paul earlier this year, said:”Next season we’ll have a excellent mix in our driver pairing, together with the substantial expertise of Sean in the year of a big technical shift for F2 which will change to 18-inch wheels.

“His background enables us to have a reference and will provide us With good comments, and we need to help him achieve the results he deserves.

“With Dan, we are investing in a rookie who we want to prepare as Fast as possible. We being vice-champion in European F3 and understand he has raw speed.

“He raced successfully with us GP3 for three rounds and we too Tested him F2 that went very well.

It is like he is coming back into the group, even if it had been on a temporary basis before. I look forward to seeing them on course in DAMS’ colors”

DAMS won the teams’ championship in 2018 with Nicolas Latifi and Sergio Sette Camara, with the Prior getting an F1 alliance with Williams along with the latter linked to a IndyCar switch.

The entry list for the day of the Abu Dhabi test has been revealed.

Entries include Nikita Mazepin testing for Carlin and Luca Ghiotto, who’s currently departing F2 to begin a career in sportscar racing next year, forcing for Trident.

Elsewhere, Yuki Tsunoda will operate for Carlin before an anticipated 2020 move, while Marino Sato drives for the team he is set Trident, for the second year to race.

Other F3 drivers taking part in the evaluation contain Pedro Piquet for the Sauber Junior Team, Felipe Drugovich for MP Motorsport and Niko Kari For Campos Racing.
