Williams to sell F1 team due to huge losses in 2019

It comes as this that Williams are considering selling off the team. They are ready to give a part of the stake of the most Iconic team British for Formula One. They want to sell a part major or minor of the stake. This step is promoted on the basis to keep the race team in position to take full advantage of the new era of Formula one race beginning in 2021. These steps are like a new strategic direction for the team.

It must be brought to notice that Williams landed on 10th position in the grid, for two successive times. This brought down the revenue to the company and had a very negative impact on the commercial part. There has been a huge decline in sponsorship too. Thus, along with all these, the corona crisis has made it clear that the company is really under pressure.

As part of this new strategic direction, the WGPH [Williams Grand Prix Holdings] board is considering a review of all the options available to the Company. These include various new ways to raise funds for the company. This includes a lot more divestment into stakes. There is no final decision made yet on this issue. The company tells us that they have taken in many financial advisers to help them come to a fruitful decision.

Stay tuned with us more updates on this.
