2021 Audi S3, RS3 spotted; Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback announced

Audi has been a marvel of innovations. Also known as “Four rings” this German automotive manufacturer has been on the epitome of success, since the start. Rolling out handsome sedans, some freakingly fast sportscars, tough, off-roading SUVs, Audi’s lineup has some great vehicles for each segment and their belief in constant improvement. This week also, many vehicles were posted or were announced. Let’s jump right in to catch the hottest ones.

2021 Audi S3 sedan and S3 Sportback

Set to compete for the likes of BMW M235i Gran Coupe, Cadillac CT4-V, and Mercedes-AMG A35 and CLA35 duo, the upcoming 2021 Audi S3 Sportback were spotted again, this time no zero camouflage. The upcoming crossover will also have an S3 sedan rolling out late 2021. But concentrating on the spied prototype of the S3 Sportback, the same had an aggressive aero kit and quad-exhaust tips.

The Sportback had some redesigned headlights that added a cruel look to the same. Whereas the S3 sedan has the same aggressive front fascia.

Talking about 2021 Audi S3 sedan, it was also spotted roaming around with no hiding. The current S3  a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 delivering 292 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, with the engine driving all four wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. A similar configuration is expected for the new S3. The performance or rather acceleration of the new S3 can improve with the previous 0-60 mph sprint being done in 4.7 seconds. It’s hard to talk about the insides, but the tag of Audi itself is the synonym of a premium cabin.

2021 Audi RS3 spied practicing at the Nurburgring track

It has been a while since we covered a 4-wheels covering the tracks, fire breathing, and burning rubber. The hatch was skidding, running, sliding, and everything that tested the roots of the camo-Audi. Though the video we watched could have understeer concern for the hatch, or maybe the test driver was playful enough to take the Audi RS3 a little outside on those turns.

Also, the exhaust sound was melodious and legit. Looks like the camo had worn a sport exhaust system, which might feature in upper trims or maybe in additional accessories. The European cars are way too silent to what we hear. But hatch wasn’t the only Audi vehicle that lapped around “The Ring”.

The camo couldn’t hide the slimmer and sleek headlights and 6-bespoke alloy wheels. The Audi’s roar hints at a turbocharged inline-five punching out above 400 hp. A British magazine claims the 2.5 TFSI might have roughly 415 hp and a healthy 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) of torque. If the rumor mill is accurate, the RS3 will boast an additional 20 hp and 15 lb-ft (20 Nm) compared to its predecessor.

New Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback are the future hot SUVs

Let’s talk green now. The Audi has already taken the first steps to the future. The new arriving Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback are two of the evidence of this statement. Strengthening the electric lineup of the German manufacturers, these are hot electric vehicles with three motors.

Priced from £87,000 for the standard SUV and £88,700 for the Sportback, the two range-topping variants are claimed to be the first volume-production cars to use three electric motors. Two of these are set at the rear axle and one on the front, and this goes the same in both the SUVs. The motors combined churn out a 496bhp and a stout 718lb ft of torque figure. Both SUVs are capable of a 130 mph top speed and a 4.5 sec 0-60 mph sprint.

This configuration doesn’t just impress on straight patches, Audi claims that E-Tron S lineup can perform “controlled drifts” due to a more rear-biased power delivery than the standard car. In normal driving modes, only the rear motors work and deliver power to all wheels via a single-speed transmission. In dynamic mode, when the pedal is pressed in search of power, the front motor activates. It also predicts the slip-on harsh turns and decelerates the inside front wheel to avoid traction loss.

Did we say it was all? Because the S variants include airflow-optimized wheel-arch extensions, which contribute to a drag coefficient of just 0.26 on the Sportback. Both vehicles will inherit a 95 kWh battery pack. This results out to a claimed range of 223 miles and 226 miles for Audi E-Tron S and E-Tron S Sportback respectively.
