It’s been a long, LONG time coming, but Bad Boys 3, AKA Bad Boys for Life, is finally heading our way next year.
The last we saw of Detectives Lowrey and Burnett was in 2003’s Bad Boys II and it feels like ever since then there has been talking about the duo returning at a third excursion. For a variety of reasons, it kept not happening though, but finally, everything is on track.

Bad Boys 3 Trailer
The first trailer for the threequel finally came on September 4 and it feels very similar to business as normal, with explosions, wisecracks, and a good deal of F-bombs.
And we have our taste of the action we have in store for us if the next trailer arrived on November 5.
It appears somebody is after Detective Mike Lowrey and the rumors were true, but we don’t know why yet.
Bad Boys 3 Release Date
Everything looked set for a release of November 9, 2018 (a delay from February 17, 2017) when the film dropped its release date and manager Joe Carnahan suddenly departed.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah took over to guide, and Sony shortly confirmed a January 17, 2020 release date in the UK and US.
Filming started on the threequel on January 14, 2019, and we have had our first look at the Bad Boys reunited on the place. It wrapped on June 7, 2019, with an on-set video being shared by Smith.

Lawrence has ever been up for starring in a third movie, even if it looked like Bad Boys for Life was not occurring because of Will Smith’s busy schedule, stating: “I am there, I am ready right now. I am ready if they wanted to get it done, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio choice.”
In the same way, Smith has always seemed pleased to return to the franchise, if he could find a gap in his workload. And on October 1, 2018, Variety reported that Smith had discovered a gap and signed on to reprise his role in the threequel as Detective Mike Lowrey.
He was quickly followed by Lawrence confirming on October 31 that he was on board the threequel and after all the years, it was genuinely, officially happening.
But it won’t all be coming faces since it has been noted that High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens, Vikings star Alexander Ludwig, and Riverdale’s Charles Melton will appear at the threequel.
Jacob Scipio will play the villain of the movie, while Mexican celebrity Paola Nuñez will perform Lowrey’s girlfriend and head of the elite AMMO unit of Miami PD. The movie stars DJ Khaled and Kate Del Castillo in undisclosed roles.
Bad Boys 3 Plot
We haven’t had an official synopsis just yet, however, we do know the rough outline of the threequel.
It seems that both newcomers (Hudgens, Ludwig, and Melton) will play a modern, highly specialized police unit that collides with the older school Bad Boys when a new threat emerges in Miami.
It looks like this is Miami PD’s elite AMMO unit, led by Lowrey’s former girlfriend (Nuñez), who is looking to take down fatal drug cartel boss Armando Armas (Scipio) which is blessed as he has been sent (by his mother) to kill Lowrey.
The trailer also confirmed that it is”one final time” to get Lowrey and Burnett, with the latter thinking that classic action film staple of retirement.
