The Corvette Stringer has been brought out by Chevrolet, the first mid-engine production of the Chevrolet. The model was revealed on Thursday in Austin, California. The new Stringray features the Small block V 8engine which revives a power of 495 hp and torque of 470 lb-ft when combined with performance exhausts. This new mid-engine provides for better mass distribution, better handling response and an entry of 60 level time with a starting price of $60,000.

The basic power train is the V8bengine from the Corvette’s LT1 for the Corvette Stingray with 495 horsepower given to the rear wheels with the Z51 package. If not, then there’s the 490 hp package in general. And no more manual for Corvette, only the 8-speed dual-clutch automated with paddle shifters.
A great start already for the design with 500 hp. There are even bigger terns in news for the future with an output of 600 to 1000 hp. Yet there are no words on the different trims but we can expect the Z06 and Grand sports to be back with their electric components.
Even more, the better news is that the price of the older and the newer versions are going to be of the same range with base up to 60000 in the US and $70000 in Canada. The interior is completely centered around the driver and very many individual functions inform of buttons, especially for the ones who don’t le the navigation menus like a heated seat and central infotainment system.
Overall it is all good but we could have expected a stick shift somewhere. Well, it’s all modern in else.
