The second Free practice match of the season opener 2020, for Styrian Grand Prix was astonishing. Here, 2019 Australian Grand Prix Winner Max Verstappen set the pace again at Red Bull ring. In earlier times of the season match, we saw Red Flag soon for Daniel Ricciardo after he had a significant impact with the barrier at turn 9. After two reasonable efforts, Red Bull/s Verstappen eventually got the lap 1m 03.660 s. this is 0.043 s up on the Mercedes Valtteri Bottas.
Looking behind him, we saw FP1 leader Sergio Perez as the third. Teammate Lance Stroll further followed him. Carlos Sainz came up as the fastest McLaren, sharper than Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.
Renault’s driver Esteban Ocon rounded out the top 10 – but it was opposite for his teammate Daniel Ricciardo. He missed the majority of the session. And as went losing the rear end of his R.S.20 on the exit of Turn 9 and barrelling into the wall on the outside of the track.
The better news of him is, Ricciardo was able to limp out of the car. It was before being cleared by the doctors after a visit to the medical center. His car was not looking in good shape, though, with visible damage to the front and rear wings. And by looking at the dire condition, we can say it will be a long evening ahead for the Renault mechanics.
