Black Summer is an American zombie apocalypse TV series created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. The series was released on Netflix on April 11, 2019.

The first season consists of 8 episodes, with each episode being about 30-40 minutes long. The story revolves around a mother separated from her daughter during the early days of a zombie apocalypse. She would go to any extent to reunite with her daughter.

The series gained mixed approval from critics. It holds a rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 17 reviews and an average rating of 6/10. In April 2019, Black Summer was the most-watched show on Netflix in the United Kingdom.

BLACK SUMMER 2 CAST: WHO’S RETURNING?

Jaime King will return as Rose. Justin Chu Cary will also be back as Spears, and Christine Lee as Kyungsun. In case there are any changes, we will have to wait for confirmation.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THIS SEASON?

Jamie King might have dropped a few hints for the fans. During an interview with ComicBook.com, she said, “What I can tease is that whatever you think is going to happen, will not happen. It will always keep you on your toes.” We are going to see a lot more than a zombie apocalypse. Nothing is predictable.

WHEN WILL WE SEE SEASON 2?

In November 2019, Netflix renewed the series for a second season. As of now, the makers have not confirmed the release date. According to sources, the production is stopped because of the COVID-19 situation. We will get to know a tentative release date only after production and filming resumes.

However, the release is expected to be scheduled in 2021. Till then, let’s wait for further updates.
