BMW Goes with Beautiful R 18 Big Boxer Cruiser after Harley-Davidson

While BMW has been at the top of the sales charts in the motorcycle industry. Since the R1200 RC, it has not reached the cruiser market. That’s improved this week with the launch of the brand new R 18.

With the Big Boxer engine, “the most powerful 2-cylinder boxer engine ever used in the manufacture of motorcycles,” the R18 described as a bike that blends the classic lines of older BMW bikes with new technology.

The motorcycle’s architecture, and parts of its structure. Such as the rear swingarm, are reminiscent of the R 5. A bike built back in the 1930s as the first BMW motorcycle to use a four-speed gearbox powered by afoot.

Features:

Even the double-loop chassis, the pear-drop tank, the open-running driveshaft, the pinstriped paintwork and, of course, the uncovered drive-shaft are points of this similarity.
The Big Boxer BMW has been teasing in the middle of the motorcycle for more than a year now. The 2 cylinder engine has a displacement of 1,802 cc. Produces 91 hp at 4,750 rpm, and provides a maximum torque of 158 Nm at 3,000 rpm.

The motorcycle comes with three drive modes-Storm, Roll and Rock-and so fitted as standard. With automatic stability control (can disengaged) and torque drag control. Optionally, you should define reverse assist and hill start power.

BMW has not yet decided when and how much it will charge for the motorcycle to become usable. However, when it enters the market, it will be sold in the form of the First Edition. Adding a few exclusive features such as a sleek black finish with white pinstriped paintwork, chrome highlights, and First Edition badges.

Also, BMW collaborated with several firms to offer the bike a local feel for the U.S. market. There, the customization software includes Roland Sands Style, Mustang Bench, or Vance & Hines parts.
