Does it mean anything is possible when the impossible occurs? That is the question I’m inquiring as Justice League’s”Snyder Cut” will eventually make its introduction after a few years of debate over whether it existed. Now that it’s on the way, folks are talking about what it implies for DC, and whether this implies that Zack Snyder’s Justice League two is now possible on the table as well.
It is fascinating to me since it could potentially create a situation that has not happened before, although that conversation is a whole thing on its own. In case Justice League 2 went, we’d feasibly have Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck playing two separate versions of Batman at precisely the same time. Is this something DC would do? For here is a rundown of DC’s past in regards to Batman representation, exactly what the situation has become and whether this might be a reality.
DC Has Been Very Protective Of Batman, Will That Change?
Batman is one of the most secure heroes of the DC world when it comes to live-action. His image is sacred, so much so he’s seemingly barred from the tv series of DC, with mentions or portrayals of Bruce Wayne up for grabs. The sole exception thus far was Gotham’s series finale, where the hero was mostly shown in costume during quick flashes, followed by one final full appearance of the character. That was for a multi-season source story, and fans just got one money taken. He wasn’t even called Batman!
According to DC’s tactics with Batman along with other heroes and villains DC TV has barred previously, the message seems clear: with a few exceptions (such as Flash), it does not want some versions of those characters existing at any one time in live-action, perhaps to prevent confusion. I can only speculate as to why, of course, and additional speculate that if DC was not willing to keep several versions of the identical hero across films and tv depicting two of these on the picture is not kosher either.
With that being said, that Batman looks in Gotham and Bruce Wayne looks in other live-action jobs that have been a rather recent trend. Furthermore, The CW is airing Batwoman, which not only frequently mentions Batman and his renowned adversaries (not to mention but has also finally shown what Bruce resembles. I should note that a lot of the coincided with the DC movie world gap where everybody tried to work out whether Ben Affleck’s Batman was out. It could’ve been that lack was though it possibly is a sign that things are shifting, why DC enabled this amount of access.
