The Hyundai Palisade SUV to be the flagship model for Hyundai in India.
There are many upcoming models in the Automotive Industry post lockdown, and most of them are going for tough competitors. The Hyundai Palisade is now one of the largest and most luxurious SUV lineups in Automotive. And the fact to ponder is, it is available now, only in LHD configuration. But there is good news, as the RHD is also developed for the global market. Though, if we have a look at the tradition, the full-sized SUVs of the global OEMs don’t usually make it up to India’s market. But if we consider the SUVs flagship offerings from Audi and BMW, they are well received. This will enable Palisade to make its mark. Tarun Garg, the director of sales, Services, and Marketing From Hyundai, India, confirms that the company is currently making all the assessments for the possibility over the launching of Palisade. And it seems the company is yet to decide on the route of CKD or CBU, before making the final judgment.
Talking about the targets of this vehicle will be the markets of Australia and South Africa. Now, if the Hyundai decides it to descend upon the Indian market, then it will be in an advantageous position. This is under the rule that enables the OEMs to be sold up to 2500 units for a CBU model. And it will not have to undergo the homologation process. But we don’t think it will go smoothly. This approach of the company may put and invite high import duties. So, it is good for them to go for adopting local assembly. Now, talking of the specifications of the Hyundai Palisade, it measures 4,980 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. Talking about the style, it goes in line with Hyundai’s latest design language of the bold hexagonal grille. And also, it comes with LED headlamps.
The whole of the Hyundai Palisade interior is a modern outfit and is well equipped with premium material.
