After Life is a British black comedy-drama web television series written, created, produced, and directed by Ricky Gervais who also happens to be the lead star. It premiered on 8 March, 2019 on Netflix. The second series premiered on 24 April,2020.
After Life narrates the story of Tony (Ricky Gervais), whose life is turned upside down after his wife dies from breast cancer. He contemplates suicide. However, he decides to live long enough to punish the world for his wife’s death.
In season 2, the series follows Tony, who, whilst still struggling to cope with the death of his wife, tries to become a better friend to those around him.
The second series received mostly positive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an overall approval rating of 75% with ab average score of 6.28/10 on 20 reviews.
WHEN WILL THE 3 RD PART RELEASE?
On 6 May 2020, Netflix and Ricky Gervais reached a new multi-project deal which included the renewal of After Life for a 3rd season. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has postponed the shooting.
WHAT WILL THE PLOT OF PART 3 BE?
Fans of the show speculate that in season 3 Tony copes with his loss and attempts to recover from that. How he deals with his friends is also going to hold a major part. However, the makers haven’t released any official statement as of now.
WHO WILL RETURN IN THE THIRD SEASON?
The major cast of the previous seasons is going to return for the 3rd season. Ricky Gervais will return as Tony, Penelope Wilton as Anne, Ashley Jensen as Emma, Tom Basden as Matt, Tony Way as Lenny, David Earl as Brian, and Mandeep Dhillon as Sandy.
