Mercedes announces two of its new high-performance coupes for launch in India, FINALLY…!!!.
Mark the date, as Mercedes AMG C 63 coupe and Mercedes AMG GT-R is set to launch on 27 May. They have already been present in the international market for several years.
First, the Mercedes AMG C 63 coupe, a facelift variant, was unveiled in March 2018. Compared to its Saloon versions, 63 coupe has a wider track width for better handling. The bonnet pops open to the same M177 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine combined with 9-speed automatic transmission directing the power to the rear wheels. A 4 second 0-100 km/h sprint and a max speed locked at 250 km/h, is the resultant of 475 PS of max power and 650 Nm of peak torque. But this all comes for a heavy price tag of around 1.50 crore(ex-showroom).
Also, the Mercedes AMG GT-R has always been a dream car of many Indians. The M178 4.0-liter Biturbo V8 petrol engine powers the GT-R 585 PS of max power and 700 Nm of peak torque making it a nasty beast. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission dumps the power to the rear wheels. The GTR-R goes from 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and is recorded to a top speed of 318 km/h. The road-legal, race devil will be priced at 2.23 crores worth(ex-showroom).
