Danial Riccardo, on Tuesday, went back to the wheels after a long time. He drove the formula 1 car for the first time since February. Renault took to private tests at red Bull Ring, and it was his teammate Esteban Ocon taking to wheels the next day. They did have a good track time. The drivers and cars were out of action after the winter testings. And so, some teams went for the private tests to take out the cobwebs off the engine and muscle ahead of the delayed season. They want a smooth entrance to the upcoming F1 Austrian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton and Valterri Bottas already went for a day at tracks with Mercedes 2108 at Silverstone and Ferrari too, this morning. As the teams aren’t allowed to run their current cars for preparations and at private test_ with the exception of 100 km of the filming days. Riccardo drove the 2018 Renault on Tuesday. He went for completing 115 laps of the Red Bull Ring. On Wednesday, Ocon went even better, with 143 laps on the clock of the Austrian circuit.
Riccardo mentioned on social media, he missed them a lot. Now, he feels fresh and ready. There are more teams like racing Point and Alpha Tauri waiting for their turns and eager for the run.
