Johnny Depp lately lost his libel case with News Group Newspapers. After some time, he addressed his fans on his Instagram he had been asked to resign from the role of Grindelwald at the Fantastic Beasts collection. The role, as announced a few weeks earlier, will be played with Mads Mikkelsen now.
In the event of this Pirates of The Caribbean series, Depp was set to reprise his role from the sixth film according to reports in early 2020. But, Disney has blocked the possibility of him returning. Apart from that, an insider, Daniel Richtman noted that Disney is planning for ten additional projects, which include television series and spin-off pictures. Margot Robbie is set to lead into a spinoff movie officially.
How Can He Return?
It is being said that Disney followed the footsteps of Warner Bros. and wishes to remove Depp in the upcoming Pirates jobs. There haven’t been many details regarding the sixth movie. But it is for sure that it is in evolution. There were reports that Disney wanted to cast Karen Gillan from the film.
Since Disney has remained mum regarding Depp, we cannot be positive he is a part. But since there has not been any official statement, he could be in. In case there’s a female guide, then Depp’s Jack Sparrow would play a secondary role. Disney has said before that it wants to add new energy and vitality to the sequence.
One of the screenwriters also confirmed that Disney was planning to reboot the series, which is accurate because the Margot Robbie spinoff is happening. Depp may also be a part of the film, although this might be a cameo. On the flip side, Jerry Bruckheimer, the manufacturer has been in discussions with Disney to keep Depp.
Why Depp Needs to Come Back?
Since the reports and the obscure reaction by Disney, lovers are afraid not to see Jack Sparrow in the sixth film. But all of them agree on one thing — Jack Sparrow set the tone for the films. In other words”He WAS Pirates of the Caribbean”. Though other characters needed a more serious demeanor, Captain Jack Sparrow has been distinct.
Jack Sparrow was infamous for always getting into trouble and escaping dramatically. He had so many enemies and always had an ulterior motive. Despite this, he kept a sense of humor and even aided his ally’s need. When you think of this franchise, it will not be surprising that Jack Sparrow is exactly what first appears on your mind.
Abruptly eliminating Jack Sparrow would not go well with Disney. Even if they seek to reboot, they will need to get this done slowly with this character. We would enjoy a nice departure and Disney understands the risk of tackling this badly.
