It was in the year 1986 when the Spanish government sold SEAT Automobiles to the German-owned Volkswagen Group which is still a wholly-owned subsidiary till now. The company mainly focuses on Eco- motive derivative system, which causes less pollution and is more eco-friendly as compared to others.

The model is designed for the use of normal people which leads to a point, the main theme behind designing the vehicle is to be more eco-friendly and not on performance. Derived from this concept, the car is power-packed by a 32.3 kWh battery back including a battery management system to ensure proper charging and discharging duty cycles. The car is highly efficient with 16.2 kWh/100 km.

The estimation of the real range of vehicle-based on the weather condition as well as track condition are mentioned below:

  1. For cold weather- City-200km, Highway-140km and a combined of both-170km.
  2. For mild weather- City-310km, Highway-180km and a combined of both-230km. While these data are performed for different situations at the economy range, the actual range depends on the speed, style of driving, climatic conditions and also ensure proper routing conditions, i.e. avoiding extreme driving conditions. Taking a look at the technical specification of the car, the model houses an electric motor capable of delivering 61 K.W. of power and producing a maximum torque of 212 Nm. The model is front wheel drive with a top speed of 130km/h. The average range of the model is 200 Km*. The new model is installed with type 2 charging port, placed on the right rear side with a maximum charge power of 7.2kW at A.C. The full battery needs about 5 hours and 30 minutes to ensure 100% battery charge. With the availability of fast charging the vehicle charges to 80% in 48 minutes which is possible due to a 40 kW DC fast charger. The car is designed as hatchback with A-mini segment as well.
