Click Here And Know When is The Last Kingdom Season 5 On Netflix?

After a long wait, The Last Kingdom lately returned into Netflix for an action-packed fourth summer that saw more epic battles and gruesome character deaths in the war between Saxon and Dane.

Alexander Dreymon reprised his role as Uhtred of Bebbanburg, who once again had to measure up to rescue Wessex from annihilation, while also confronting the challenge of being a father.

The series has been a fervent fanbase that is keen to see more books from the Saxon Stories adapted for the screen of Bernard Cornwell, but will The Last Kingdom be back for another season on Netflix?

Here’s everything we know up to now about a possible season five…

When Is The Last Kingdom season five coming to Netflix?

We’re still awaiting word on if The Last Kingdom has been renewed for a fifth season on Netflix. The service will soon come to a decision dependent on popularity.

Talking to at our live The Last Kingdom Q&A, executive producer Nigel Marchant explained: “We are very optimistic, we would like to do a season five. I believe we all want to tell a story if you’re able to tell a story throughout all the several seasons and it’s always more satisfying. I think I speak for everyone once I say we do love making it.”

As it pertains in we’ll update this site.

Who will maintain the cast of The Last Kingdom season 5?

There aren’t any confirmed details about who’d go back for the fifth season, but certain members of The Last Kingdom cast seem quite likely indeed.

Needless to say, how can you make a season of The Last Kingdom as Uhtred of Bebbanburg with no Alexander Dreymon? Not only is his performance beloved by fans, but also the character has plenty of business to see to.

In season four, he tried to reclaim his ancestral lands, however, the mission went catastrophically wrong and cost the life of a beloved friend. There is no doubt he will want to avenge that death, while ultimately taking back what is his.

Emily Cox is likely to reprise her role as the childhood friend of Uhtred turned nemesis Brida, who we last saw giving birth alone. She’s been a huge part of The Last Kingdom at the start and her life looks set to be changed forever by current events.

Mark Rowley, Ewan Mitchell, and Arnas Fedaravičius have turned into real fan favorites as Uhtred’s loyal allies, so here’s hoping that they stay by his side for several more adventures to come.

Over in the Viking camp, Haesten (Jeppe Beck Laursen) remains living against all odds, while Sigtryggr (Eysteinn Sigurðarson) has partnered up with Uhtred’s daughter, Sierra (Ruby Hartley). Even though the Saxons are tactically stronger than ever. It appears that the story of their battle with Dane invaders is far from over…

In Winchester, year four left the Saxon royals in a state of turmoil, so expect to see more of Timothy Innes as King Edward, Millie Brady as Lady Aethelflaed and (possibly) Eliza Butterworth as Lady Aelswith — more about this below…

Just how many episodes will five have and what might occur?

If year five were to get the green light, it would consist of another 10 episodes.

Every season of The Last Kingdom loosely adapts two books from the Saxon Stories of Bernard Cornwell. Season five could draw on inspiration from Warriors of The Flame Bearer and the Storm. The Last Kingdom’s real history maybe even more fascinating than the novels, that can be partly based on real events in early British history.

Nevertheless, do not expect The Last Kingdom to stick to these novels to the correspondence, as the Netflix adaptation was proven to have significant differences in The Last Kingdom novels.

Executive producer Nigel Marchant gave an insight into where the plot could go next: “I think we would like to tell the narrative of these different kingdoms coming together and how that marriage happens, and also does Uhtred get back to Bebbanburg? Can he get his fantasy? Can he find his heritage? And what is his involvement in bringing these kingdoms together?”

Among the mysteries is whether her poisoning is survived by Aelswith in the hands of their treacherous Aethelhelm.

Eliza Butterworth, who has played Aelswith since season one, spoke to concerning the fate of her personality, saying, “It was really exciting to perform her in those more sensitive sides, not only emotionally but also now physically, we see her completely unraveling and becoming so weak. And those about her realizing they do and feeling sympathy want her.

“It is quite sad to possibly see her go, therefore we don’t know. We don’t know…”

Additionally, there are plenty more stories to inform Uhtred’s children, Young Uhtred (Finn Elliot) and Sierra (Ruby Hartley), the latter with just been partnered into a Viking warrior in a bid to get peace.

Is there any behind-the-scenes content?
