Star Trek: Discovery is an American sci-fi adventure drama. Till now, 2 seasons have been aired by Netflix.

The first season has 15 episodes whereas the second season comprises 14 episodes. The length of each episode ranges between 37 minutes to 65 minutes. The show was released on 24th September 2017. The second season was aired on 17th January 2019.

Rotten tomatoes have given an 83% rating to both the seasons. The first season has received high ratings which makes this show unmissable.

Cast

Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Saru(Doug Jones), Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp), Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman), Nhan (Rachel Ancheril, Nillson (Sara Mitich), Joann Owosekun (Oyin Oladejo), Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh), Jett Reno (Tig Notaro), R A Bryce (Ronnie Rowe), Gen Rhys (Patrick Kwon-Chook) and Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) were all healthy and alive at the end of the second season. However, people speculated that Yeoh might not be seen in the third season due to the shooting of Section 31, another Star Trek Show. However, she informed me that she would not start the said shooting until the ending of the third season. Moreover, there will be new people going in such as Anson Mount (Christopher Pike) and Ethan Peck (Spock).

Plot

The next season has been set about 1000 years ahead in the future and it will be more cheery than the previous seasons. But Spock will be in a weird place as both emotion and logic are deceiving him and it will difficult for him to balance both. The new season will bring a wave of nostalgia as the third season will be full of the original positivity that Star Trek possesses. The season will reveal the incident which led to the events of star trek. Although the fans have condemned the show for being dark, it is suspected that the next season will consist of adventure and action. Furthermore, Star Trek: Discovery promised to adapt the Original Series which vanished during the second season and made the fans furious. However, we will evidence the comeback and a new beginning in the upcoming season.

Release Date

Season 3 is expected to be released in 2020 but has been further postponed due to lockdown.
