BMW iX3: The new Electrifying Concept

With every company extending it’s domain from fuel driven cars to electric cars, BMW one of the prominent leaders in automobile society has already started to work on battery operated Electric vehicles and is finally upcoming with an Electric car concept of BMW iX3. The concept supports a 75.0 kWh usable battery providing a total range of 350km. The company is one of the first to develop a highly efficient battery with an efficiency of 21.4 kWh per 100 km. According to sources, BWM iX3 will be an all wheel drive(AWD) system with a time recorded acceleration of 5 seconds from 0-100 Kmph. Rumours hints that the new model will have a top speed of 200 Kmph, delivering an electric range of 350 km in a single charge. The model houses an electric motor capable of producing a total power of 200 kW/ 272 PS and 500 Nm of torque.

Now coming to the battery and charging section, the battery power-packs a total capacity of 75.0 kWh, supporting a charge power of 11kW AC and a total charging time of 8 hours and 15 minutes for a single complete charge from 0-100%. The charging port is located on left side-Front with a type 2 charging port. The port also supports fast charging with a CCS enabled fast-charge, supporting a maximum charge power of 150 Kw DC. The fast charge speed varies of different conditions including atmospheric and electric conditions, but in ideal condition the fast-charge could occur in mere than 28 Minutes. Charging is possible by using a regular wall plug or advanced charging stations. NOTE: BMW has not released any specific detail about the onboard charger in iX3.

The CO2 emission of the vehicle is 0 g/kg with a vehicle fuel equivalent ratio of 2.4 litres per 100km. These information are not specified by company itself but are based on EVDB real range.

Taking a look at it’s lavishing exteriors the car body supports an SUV build-type, classified in sports utility segment. The expected price-tag of the model in United Kingdom is nearly about 56,000 pounds and the price of the model is estimated to be 70,000 euros.
