The Umbrella Academy released more posters for the forthcoming season two, and though they seem like regular promotional stuff, they may be hiding some clues about the Hargreeves’ upcoming experiences. Based on the comic book series by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, The Umbrella Academy created its Netflix introduction in February 2019 and turned into a big hit, even exceeding among Netflix’s most well-known names: Stranger Things. It was revived for a second season.
The Umbrella Academy follows the dysfunctional family of adopted siblings, the Hargreeves. Them, along with other 36 children around the world, were born on the same day, at precisely the same time, also under the identical mysterious conditions, as none of the mothers had been pregnant once the day began. Seven of those children were quickly adopted by the scientist and billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who like the children developed unique collections of superpowers, trained them, and formed a superhero team called”that The Umbrella Academy”. Reginald wasn’t a good father figure, and the children ended up going on their ways reuniting years later after the departure of Reginald.
The Hargreeves were made to work together to stop the apocalypse, which turned out to be caused by their allegedly helpless sister, Vanya (Ellen Page). Unfortunately, they weren’t able to prevent the end of the planet, and so their only solution was to jump through space and time to save themselves. Season two of The Umbrella Academy will catch up with all the Hargreeves, who jumped back in time, even though it’s unknown exactly when they landed. Season 2 currently has a release date of July 31, and Netflix has started its advertising campaign together with the release of character posters, which could have some hints about the setting and more.
The Hargreeves Are Out Of Order
The group supporting The Umbrella Academy decided to share the aforementioned posters out of order, which instantly caught the attention of fans. The first one was Ben, followed by Klaus Luther, Diego, Vanya, and Five. Even though it may seem like nothing particular so as the order in which Reginald termed them was called into question the order of the posters could hint at where the siblings will be in season two. It has been speculated by some enthusiasts that the Hargreeves will land in the same season but not the same place, and will end up scattered around the entire world.
It required five decades to figure out the equation to go back in time, and if he did, he reverted to his 13-year old figure. Five managed to land precisely where and when he wanted, but he had never made a jump with six other people (Ben included, of course). It’s possible, then, that they all landed in areas that are different, forcing them to live their own lives. The (seemingly) random sequence where the season 2 posters were released could tip at this, though Ben and Klaus would land around precisely the same place as Ben can’t appear or materialize without Klaus’ help. Along with this, the outfits of these siblings are a hint of the era they’ll live in now (except, of course, Ben’s clothes), encouraging the concept they will return to the 1960s, exactly like in the comic books.
What Else The Hargreeves Posters Being Out Of Order Could Mean
About where and when the Hargreeves will be if not, then the arrangement of the posters could hint at something a lot darker and sadder. A fan on twitter theorized that the posters are in the order of most to least likely to die in season 2 – and it’s not a crazy thought when studying the strengths and weaknesses of every character. As mean as it seems, Ben’s poster was released first because he is already dead, and Klaus was next because of his powers and struggles, as he could communicate with the deceased and temporarily create them corporeal, also was dealing with drug addiction for several years.
Next is Allison, who almost died after Vanya sliced her throat with the bow of her violin (and who, interestingly, does not have a scar, at least on the poster), and Luther could be more vulnerable than his physical appearance suggests as all the experimentation that he went through might have left him with a few flaws. Diego’s reflexes, ability to curve the trajectory of anything he throws, and his mastery in using knives are on his side, giving him marginally more odds of surviving than Luther. Then comes Vanya, the strongest of the Hargreeves siblings though not fully invincible, and last not least, Five, whose capability to jump through space and time allows him to escape from any assault. Other fans think it is not about death but a metaphorical one, which makes way for some growth in the character’s lives. However, some believe that 6431275 is a hint to the date and time that they landed on January 2, 6:43, 1975. Their outfits possess a 1960s/1970s vibe so that it might be possible that season two will be put in the mid-1970s.
What The Blood On Five’s Face Could Be From
Another detail that captured the attention of lovers is the blood on Five’s face. Without restricting the apocalypse, which had been induced by Vanya, Five is the person who has killed the most people, as that was his occupation recruited by the Commission he kept doing this once he came back, even however this time he killed a lot of agents from the Commission. It is not surprising that his face is splattered with blood to the poster, but it could have a connection to the comic book arc of Five.
From the Dallas narrative, Five goes back to the 1960s to meet the mission of killing John F. Kennedy, though the person who ends up killing him is Allison, through a rumor. The blood could be hinting at Five carrying on with the assignment himself or, only, he proceeds to kill as the Commission surely will not quit searching for him the temps which go after him. Of course, that depends on when The Umbrella Academy season 2 will be set, though Kennedy might be altered for somebody else when they landed in the 1970s. Now the new season has an official release date, fans just need to wait for a trailer which will offer clues.
