Honda Civic Type R: The Car is slated to arrive in Singapore in April

Honda walks off the new year with a first look at the 2020 Civic Type R that is updated. The high-performance hatchback, nevertheless, appears almost identical to the automobile Honda unveiled two decades back.

The automobile was revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon last weekend. Besides the additional elements on front end assembly, it is hard to make out what further changes you can find. The car is slated to arrive in April in Singapore.

The outside design upgrades include a broader front grille along with a new ‘Boost Blue’ paint project, which is exclusive to the Form R. Aside from that, the 2020 Civic Type R becomes fresh two-piece brake rotors together with new brake pads. While the suspension has been stiffened to provide a better grip on the vehicle, the dampers are upgraded to provide a comfortable ride.

Honda has added its ‘Honda Sensing’ security and tech as standard on all models for the 2020 model season, including features like collision warning emergency braking and lane-departure alert.

Powering the 2020 Civic Type R will be the same 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder VTEC petrol engine which sets out a maximum power output of 306 hp and a 400 Nm peak torque. The power is delivered to the wheels via a limited-slip differential and a gearbox.

The hot hatch includes R, which alters the firmness of the suspensions, alongside the steering and throttle response, namely Comfort, Sport and three driving manners. The 2020 facelift gets what Honda calls for the Lively Sound Control, which will produce artificial sound inside the cabin in agreement with the selected drive mode.

Honda is yet to announce the 2020 Civic Type R, which is shown closer to its launch this year’s pricing. The automobile will continue to equal the likes of performance-oriented hatchbacks including Volkswagen Golf R, Subaru WRX STI Type RA, Ford Focus RS and the Hyundai Veloster N.
