Husqvarna Svartpilen:Perfection to a next level.

Husqvarna originally a Swedish brand that is now under complete ownership of KTM are well known for the production of roadgoing off-road products in a nominal price segment. The new Svartpilen shares very much similar features of the 390 Duke in terms of body, engine and suspension components. The motorbike is expected to attain smooth handling and much-anticipated legacy to naked styling bikes. The new Husqvarna Svartpilen houses a 1-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a total power output of 43 Bhp and a net torque of 37 Nm. The total displacement provided by the engine is nearly about 373 cc.

Other numerical specifications of the engine are defined as 373.2 cc maximum displacement, 89mm of bore and 60mm of stroke. The engine is mated with a 6-speed automatic gear-box along with an engine management system(EMS) manufactured by Bosch. According to reports from Rekluse the new Husqvarna Svartpilen will be equipped with an auto-clutch system that a capable of delivering high performance and is also responsible for the “Smart Clutch System” used in MV Agusta bikes. The system is equipped with a centrifugally operated auto-clutch that eliminates the stalling of the motorcycle if it abruptly comes to a stop. It requires no modification to the stock component and uses a standard clutch lever system which can also be used if needed.

Considering the braking, the model is equipped with a Bosch 9.1 MB Dual channel ABS, with disc braked on both fronts (320mm disc) and rear(230mm disc). The new Vitpilen sports a unique spoke wheel arrangement giving it a perfect retro and classical look. To protect the driver from shocks the new Vitpilen houses a 43mm upside-down forks(USD) front suspension and mono-shocker as the rear suspension. Reports suggest that Husqvarna has added an additional feature of ride by wire throttle and a traction control unit. Past recent days Husqvarna Svartpilen new model has been spotted testing ahead to its India launch. The Husqvarna model will also be compliant with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms. In terms of pricing the motorbike is expected to carry a significant premium over the KTM Duke 390 which is priced at 2.48 lakhs, so the model is expected to launch at a price tag of 2.7 lakhs to 3.0 lakhs (ex. showroom price).
