Lando Norris feels bruised but happy with F3 Karting for Austria prep

As teams are at the peak of their preparation for the Austrian Grand Prix, we are too busy. McLaren’s Lando Norris was made to undergo a serious workout. And then, they moved to the tested F3 machinery at Silverstone this weekend. He was also accompanied by Carlos Sainz, his teammate. Norris also went for a karting day. Here too, he found himself with his McLaren teammate Sainz, his boss Zak Brown. There were other team personals as well. It somewhat seemed to be rude reawakening to the racing strains.

On his Vlog on Youtube, he went on to say- there were three days to prep for Austria. And two days in F3 and one day for karting. Today, the karting and the bumps were heavy. Though he really says that karting is the best physical thing for the body.

Talking of the other teams, some are planning to use older F1 cars, 2018 vintage, or 2020 challengers for the rest of the filming days. But McLaren goes with something different. They pair up Carlin’s f3 car to get past the speed. He explains why it was difficult. The steering was heavy, F1 gets nice and easy. And here, the tires are such that they won’t be loaded easily.  It needs time and then, lots of grips. There may be a downforce at high speed as well. And you need to be careful and easy with the turns.
