    While the roaring popularity of Tiger King soldiers on, Spanish offense series Money Heist is quietly becoming one of the most underrated and essential shows on Netflix.

    The series follows a set of robbers tasked with attacking buildings by occupying them on behalf of a nameless supervisor, the Professor. Money Heist has drawn parallels with Ocean’s Eleven and Baby Driver but has carved a fanbase entirely of its own.

    Season four just dropped and gave it four stars but there is already loads to get lovers thinking about what could come next in season five. This is everything we know so far.

    Good question. There’s been no official confirmation yet, but Money Heist creator and showrunner Álex Pina advised ABC Spain that discussions have been in movement. “Someone understands there’ll be [a fifth season], but we don’t,” Pina said.

    There was a nine-month gap between season three and season four, which might suggest fans could expect the fifth season by the end of this season but contemplating Netflix suspended production on all first jobs on March 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic, there could be a further delay.

    “We’ve always looked for characters to have an extremely complicated, layered layout. I think virtually every part of Money Heist has a duality which we’d love to view within a spinoff. We could watch any of these in other contexts.

    Pina continued on the options for certain characters: “I believe Arturito could have black humor. Berlin’s case for his show is very clear he is a misogynist, a psychopath, egocentric, a narcissist, a delinquent, a rapist… but there are a lot of folks who love him because he values friendship, loyalty or fraternity.

    “From Nairobi to El Profesor… Denver is yet another character with his charm. I’d like to compose all of them as spinoffs!”
