Nissan Ariya electric crossover, a Tesla Model Y rival, might revive the company’s lost spirits.

A few months back, Nissan got off its long sleep and teased the world with a new lineup of Nissan vehicles that included the new 400z, Rogue Sport and Qashqai. The Nissan will now unveil the all-electric crossover Nissan Ariya on July 15, which will add electrification to the lineup.

All-new Nissan Ariya, an electric crossover SUV

Nissan Ariya will get the Japanese automaker’s response to Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID4. The Ariya was one of the vehicles teased in the official video of its upcoming lineup.
“The highlight of the new Ariya is the fusion of electrification and advanced driver-assist technologies that is expected to develop into self-driving cars in the future,” Makoto Uchida, Nissan CEO, said in an interview earlier this month. “We expect the all-new Ariya to play a key role as a brand driver and Nissan’s face for the new era.”

Thus the hype of the SUV is pretty high, and the D-day is also not far. The upcoming Ariya is speculated to equip one or two motors, and Nissan’s e-4ORCE dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain is predicted to shoot the crossover from 0-60 mph line in just 5-seconds. It will have an estimated range of around 300 miles. The crossover will also feature Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0 autonomous driving system that will promote hands-free driving capabilities. It also pairs driver monitoring systems, to keep the driver up on long journeys.

A new 39-seconds video also revealed the insides of the upcoming SUV. The sleek and handsome dash has one screen long enough to stretch as both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The Nissan has hinted at the Ariya to cost around $40,00 and will be the first launch in Japan and the US and then reach out to the European markets later. Other specs will be revealed on July 15, so stay tuned because we’ll be right on time with our popcorn bucket.
