Spenser Confidential premiered on Netflix on Friday, March 6, and it’s already one of the most popular films on Netflix.
After watching the film, fans all over the world are sharing their hopes for a sequel to the Netflix original movie.
We certainly need to see Winston Duke, Mark Wahlberg, Iliza Shlesinger, and Alan Arkin right back to get a sequel, and hopefully, Netflix can make that occur.
It does not sound like there are any significant plans right now, but according to a report from the LA Times, all of the major players are considering doing a sequel! That is excellent news for fans of the movie!
Below discussed the anticipated release for Spenser Confidential two and some possible storylines for the sequel.
Release Date
Assuming a sequel is ordered, it’s likely going to be a long time until we visit Spenser Confidential 2. There’s so much that has to happen to receive the sequel off the floor. The script has to be composed, filming must occur, and all the editing and marketing. That is not including any discussions which need to take place with the actor’s staff and crew.
At the very earliest, it is going to be the spring of 2022 until we visit Spenser Confidential 2. Until Wahlberg, Duke, and many others had deals to get a sequel before the release of this first film, it would be some time to get all that worked out.
There have been long delays between the film and the movie for those movies we have seen, although we haven’t seen several Netflix sequels. To All Of The Boys, I’ve Loved Before had about an 18-month gap between movies. We are still waiting on Bright 2 starring Will Smith, which premiered on Netflix in December 2017.
In the first, anticipate a two-year gap between the movies. This is assuming Netflix orders the sequel.
What Happens Next
I think we all wish to visit Henry, Hawk, Cissy, and Spenser. We caught a glimpse of something going down at the end of the movie with a fire chief. That sounds interesting.
But, I believe the writers could come up with something somewhat better. I truly enjoyed Hawk and Spenser investigating cops. There is? This appears to be an excellent place to start.
I like the group that has been constructed with Henry and Cissy assisting Hawk and Spenser. When they continued to decode cases, it would be great, and then we could catch up with them a year or two down the road.
I also wonder whether there are some loose ends. It’d be interesting to see if Driscoll was not actually pulling on the strings. Now, that person wants revenge on Spenser and the group.
