    The 2500cc Triumph Rocket 3 R is fantastic for A 0-60 mph 2.7sec cycle

In addition to having the biggest motor of any production vehicle, the Rocket 3 is now reportedly the fastest from 0-60 mph for the company.

0-60 mph isn’t a metric that’s as relevant for performance cars in the motorbike world. Figures are not quoted as much as there are multiple factors on two wheels which can have a big impact on how long it takes to get to the elusive number.

But if all goes well the results can be amazing. Just take this Triumph attempt with its Rocket 3 R. It took just 2.73 seconds to reach 60 mph on a circuit in Spain a couple of months ago, smashing Triumph’s internal record in the process.

We’re not sure why we’re hearing about it now, but yeah. It serves as a nice way to warm up a cold winter’s day. Particularly since the video of Triumph includes a cheeky race with a McLaren 720S.

    The Big Question:

The bike in question was a prototype in pre-production. They changed only in the interest of on-track safety by cutting the number plate and wing mirrors. They used Avon tires for the run itself.

The Rocket 3 R uses a 2458cc inline-triple which produces 165bhp. And 163 lb-ft of torque to get it to 60 mph in such a short time. It is the largest engine and the torquiest used in any production motorbike.

0-60 mph isn’t a metric that’s as relevant for performance cars in the motorbike world. Figures are not quoted. As much as there are multiple factors on two wheels which can have a big impact on how long it takes to get to the elusive number.

Yet the findings may be incredible. So, just take this Triumph attempt with its Rocket 3 R. It took just 2.73 seconds to reach 60 mph on a circuit in Spain a few months ago, smashing Triumph’s internal record in the process.
