Many fans who have recently watched the fourth season of The Last Kingdom may be wondering how the story drama continues. Producer Nigel Marchant has now commented on the potential fifth season.
At the end of April, Netflix presented the fourth season of The Last Kingdom. Anyone who has already seen through the new season of the historical drama is probably wondering when it will go on with the fifth – if this happens at all. Producer Nigel Marchant has now given Radio Times a small update on the status of his series.
“We have high hopes and would love to do a fifth season. I think we all want to tell a story and it is always much more satisfying to be able to tell your story in different seasons. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all want to do it.”
When asked what fans could expect if Netflix gave the green light, Marchant replied: “I think we want to tell the story of how these individual kingdoms come together and how unification takes place. And also whether Uhtred is coming back to Bebbanburg. Are His Dreams Fulfilled? Does he find his destiny? What is its role in uniting the kingdoms? We will be happy to think about it further.”
It is currently still unclear when a final decision about the future of the series can be expected. Fans who haven’t yet seen the new season should do so now, so Netflix has even more reasons to extend The Last Kingdom.
