Lilly Wachowski, who directed the original Matrix trilogy, together with her sister Lana Wachowski; has said that anger and rage directed the duo to make the movies. Although Lilly helmed all three films of the original trilogy the director will not be returning to the 2021-set Matrix 4.
She’s presently working on a new project”Work in Progress”, a Showtime comedy that explores pertinent issues of queer and transgender identity. The director also recently lashed out in Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump for making nonsensical references to the”Red Pill”; together with the two ignoring warnings about the COVID-19 pandemic along with a callback to the first Matrix movie.
The action genre that was sci-fi was altered by the Wachowskis in 1999 after the launch of The Matrix. The film had Keanu Reeves as Neo, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Hugo Weaving.
On its release, the sci-fi flick won critical acclaim and also smashed box office records that were numerous; nearing a whole trilogy. Not to mention that the games and animated companion compilation.
