In 2021 the most famous sci-fi franchise of them, all will be returning for a fourth round. Yep, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and much more will probably be back alongside director Lana Wachowski to get the fourth film in the legendary Matrix series.
In a statement announcing the new movie, Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich stated: “We could not be more inclined to become re-entering the Matrix’ with Lana. Lana is a true visionary – a singular and original innovative filmmaker and we’re thrilled that she’s writing, producing, and directing this fresh chapter in the Matrix’ universe.”

The Matrix 4 Release Date
Announced back in December 2019, The Matrix 4 is going to be published on May 20, 2021, exactly the identical evening as Keanu Reeves’ other new movie, John Wick 4.
However, production was stopped on The Matrix 4 last month due to the coronavirus pandemic. So it’s likely that the movie’s release could be pushed. Although nothing has been announced.

Keanu Reeves will return together with Carrie-Anne Moss once again playing Trinity as Neo, in the starring role. They join with Matrix director Lana Wachowski.
Also confirmed to be on board for the new movie is Aquaman, The Greatest Showman, and Watchmen star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. As Variety reports, the actor, who appeared in the Striking Vipers event of Black Mirror), will play a”lead role” in the movie, with some speculating that he’ll portray a young Morpheus.
Another name that has been revealed for your Matrix 4 cast is How I Met Your Mom star, Neil Patrick Harris. The celebrity’s specific role is being kept under wraps, but is said to be”important”.
There are also several rumors flying about as to members of the cast. Iron Fist and Game Of Thrones celebrity Jessica Henwick are in discussions to play a major role, though there aren’t any specifics yet available.
IZombie actor Andrew Caldwell was recently confirmed to combine franchise newcomers Priyanka Chopra and Mindhunter star Jonathan Groff from the movie.
Another name in contention is Jada Pinkett Smith, who would return for the part of Niobe, who she performed in The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions.
1 actor is confirmed to not be returning for the sequel, though. Hugo Weaving, who portrayed Agent Smith from the first three movies, recently announced that he won’t be featuring since the filming clashed with his starring role in the theatre production of The See.

Lana Wachowski along with her cast are maintaining about any plot details to the film.
“Many of the thoughts [sister] Lilly [Wachowski] and I explored 20 years back about our reality are even more applicable now,” Lana said in a statement accompanying the film’s confirmation. “I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and thankful for another chance to work together with my brilliant friends”
Wachowski is currently working on the screenplay for the movie alongside David Mitchell and writers Aleksandar Hemon.
One who has seen the script is Abdul-Mateen, who advised Entertainment Weekly: “I am very excited to do it. A great team and I believe there is going to be a lot of… it is a very exciting important script that I am honored to be a part of.”
