Sebastian Vettel sounds From Formula 1 – suggestions it was his final race after finishing fifth in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix were mocked by him — looks like you.

We Can’t be sure what’s happening at the depths of his head — and he might yet surprise — but, while his 2019 effort was disappointing and at times blundersome, it wasn’t that of a motorist who’s missing the determination and desire to maintain F1.

The group began pre-season testing ardently but that didn’t Translate into results at the start of the calendar year, and it had to wait before the Grand Prix — after F1’s summer break — to get its first win.

Despite asserting pole nine it finally scored just three successes Pole positions and has been defeated by Mercedes in the drivers’ and constructors’ championships.

Asked where he thought Ferrari dropped its fight this Year, team chief Binotto said: “I think we lost this past year after designing that car.

“Because in the end, we have been aggressive at the beginning of the season. And there are reasons for it.

So, in the end, I think it is the automobile project that wasn’t good enough to start with.

“Showing our development speed [within the entire year ], generally speaking, Our design wasn’t as good as our main competitor. So I believe that is it.”

Ferrari should have won the next race of this year in Bahrain however Charles Leclerc has been robbed of success on his second start for the group with a fault.

That was the first of costly reliability issues for Ferrari, that had within qualifying in Germany and Austria, problems, race-ending an engine issue in the United States and failures in Brazil and Russia.

Alongside its troubles, a magnificent run of form following the summer break Left it facing extreme scrutiny from allegations and rivals of rule-breaking.

“It has been an extreme season,” stated Binotto, for whom 2019 was his Initial year as team boss. “A whole lot to do. The group was restructured, reorganized by us.

“But I think in the meantime, we always tried to tackle and enhance The automobile and I think we did it throughout the season, at least to some degree.

“But now the season is over, and we’re looking at another one.”

Binotto was not keen to go over the areas Ferrari is currently seeking to improve with its 2020 layout.

“We know where we’ve got at least a few flaws, where we’re weak In comparison to these, and so are putting all of our effort seeking to address it” explained Binotto.

“I don’t understand what’s going to be the situation at the beginning of next season. It can not be known by anyone.

“We are aware that it’s a 22-race year next year. So what will be the picture at the start it may be addressed later on.

“What’s significant is that the staff stays united, keeps being concentrated, working hard, working well, and has high motivation.”
