The vampire diaries, the renowned mystic teen drama of American origin, were a television series comprising 171 seasons over 8 seasons. The series was set in motion since the 10th of September, 2009, and had completed its eight seasons by March 2017. The developer of this television series Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec had thought to conclude it with the eight seasons, but to their surprise, the series became astonishingly popular when it started streaming on the new generation entertainment platform i.e., Netflix.
Storyline:
The story of the series is centric on the life of Elena Gilbert who is a high school girl living in the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. She has not only lost her parents but also has lost the hopes of being happy again because of this loss.
The word “Vampire” in the name of the series symbolizes the Vampire brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Both of them possess different characters in comparison with each other. On one hand, there is Stephan Salvatore, who possesses a kind heart and is a humble soul. He satisfies his hunger by feeding on animals so that he could prevent himself from killing people. On the other hand, lives his elder brother Damon Salvatore who is not only selfish but also is an example of cruelty who feeds on humans recklessly. The Salvatore brothers had one thing in common and that was the fact that both of them fell in love with the same girl named Katherine Pierce.
The fact that Elena resembles the love interest of Salvatore brothers becomes the reason behind them getting attracted to her. Unaware of the reality of the Salvatore brothers, Elena is shown to fall for Stefan in the beginning seasons, and then she falls for Damon in the latter seasons as they seem to bring up the hope of happiness in her life.
This attractive and unusual love story of Elena makes its viewers crave and demand for its next season.
