TVS Creon Performance Centered Electric Scooter

TVS Motor Company is one of the biggest scooter manufacturers in the world. India is the biggest market for scooters in the world and India is planning to restrict the sales of scooters to electric by 2030.

TVS is expected to launch several new electric scooters in the coming years. The Creon is the first electric scooter manufactured TVS and is an electric scooter concept that was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.

It is a performance-oriented scooter that can accelerate faster than many sports cars. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. It boasts of a host of features beginning with 3 Lithium battery modules that provide a range of 80 km and produces 12kW of power.

The batteries can be charged to 80% in just 1 hour. The batteries are placed in the middle of the scooter to achieve the lowest possible center of gravity to give it a sportbike style riding.

The scooter has the looks similar to race scooter and is equipped with the latest innovations such as a TFT screen that connects with a smartphone for access to various scooter apps and display of basic information such as speed and battery level.

The scooter is connected to a service cloud, it offers three driving modes, has regenerative braking, parking assistant, anti-theft security, GPS navigation and geo-fencing that adds to the specialty of the scooter.

TVS has collaborated with the tech giant Intel for developing smart features for the given electric scooter Creon concept. The chassis is a perimeter frame, the alloy wheels, tires and front disc brake are inspired by Ntorq 125. A rear disc brake and single-channel ABS will be present. The suspension of the TVS Creon is handled by a telescopic front suspension along with a mono-shock rear suspension.

TVS has a record of bringing concepts it shows at one Auto Expo to production by the following Auto Expo, which means that the Creon should be expected to be ready for production by the beginning of 2020.

However, without the government help by providing adequate infrastructure for charging electric vehicles, it doesn’t seem likely that the Creon will go to production anytime soon. TVS Creon will be a strong rival to the recently launched Emflux One in the markets.
