Will Car Model Lotus Evija, a 2000-hp Electric Super Car, beat Bugatti’s 0-186 mph Record?

Lotus has made some announcements to make; wait, maybe the terminologies are wrong. Lotus has some records to break, and the company has a killer weapon that aims to do the same. With no further whiling away the time, let’s talk about Lotus Evija.

A few weeks back, this Lotus electric flagship resurfaced after its announcement in June 2019. It sets its eyes on destroying Bugatti’s 0-186 mph acceleration in just 12.4 seconds.

The Lotus Evija is a 2000-hp electric supercar that will pioneer the next-gen of sports cars. It is claimed to be the quickest street-legal from 0-186 mph(300 mph). Lotus previously said the Evija would do 0-186 mph in less than 9.0 seconds. Top Gear noted that this beats internal-combustion supercars like the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport and Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Thus it will be company’s official new product after Evora.

The company claimed that the Evija would be a 1,973 horsepower and 1,254 pound-feet of torque monster powered by 4-motor setup, i.e., each wheel has an individual motor. A 70 kWh battery pack will power the motor setup, which will bless the Evija for pure 250 miles. To counteract the pack’s load, the Evija gets a carbon fiber monocoque chassis—a first for a Lotus road car. The result is a curb weight of 3,704 pounds.

Due to the current situation, Lotus will produce only 130 units of this car before the end of this year. This would make Evija the first electric supercar around 2000-hp, beating Tesla Roadster and Rimac C Two.
