2020 Triumph Street Triple RS will launch on 25 March in India

Triumph has officially confirmed that its naked streetfighter, the 2020 Street Triple RS, will soon be launched in India on 25 March. The new version is a major version of its predecessor. We rode the 2020 version on Spain’s roads and around the Circuito Cartagena race track in October.

The RS is this Street Triple’s version which comes in S and R trims. The 2020 version looks more competitive than the previous version, essentially due to a redesigned front fascia that appears more competitive now. It retains the headlamp. Its extensions and the fuel tank, radiator guards, belly pan and segment have been provided a subtle sip and sip.

The new Street Triple RS continues to be powered with a 765cc, in-line three-cylinder engine that generates 121bhp at 11,750rpm and 78.6Nm of torque. Triumph has tweaked the engine to get more refinement and better mid-range functionality. It has been updated using a fast shifter now although the engine is still mated into a six-speed gearbox. It also comes equipped with four riding modes a new Bluetooth-enabled TFT device cluster and traction control.

Being the top-spec edition, the RS also gets superior cycle parts such as fully-adjustable upside-down forks from Showa at the front, Ohlins mono-shock at the back and Brembo brakes along with Supercorsa SP V3 tyres that are grippy wrapped around its wheels.

The existing model of the Triumph Street Triple RS retails at Rs 11.13 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) and the 2020 version will be more expensive.
